The 21st century has given us the gift of connection, for better or worse, it’s here to stay and it’s up to us to utilize it to our advantage. Search engines such as Google, are one of many tools we have been given and it is very powerful. Here are 6 tips on how to optimize your business to be seen on search engines: 1. Website Tags            
Website tags are the hashtags for your website code. These are usually inputted when your site is being built so it is a good idea to start thinking of common phrases that apply to your audience.

2. Blogs or Articles            
Blogs and articles are a great way to give back to your community while increasing your online view ability. Not only do they provide value to your audience but they also give you a chance to connect with others who may would not have found you. Think of every time you had to search how to do something, that information didn’t come from the search engine, it came from a blog or article.

3. Register your Business on Maps            
Registering your business on navigation systems such as Google Maps is an excellent way to get your name out there to your local community. Most mobile phone companies utilize these same systems, so whenever a local needs your service they can rest easy your name is in their pocket. To do this you just need to go to Google Map’s website and register. Make sure you have an address, phone number and website you are comfortable with being public.

4. Understand the Algorithm            
The almighty algorithm rules all, it has made and destroyed careers. Understanding the more interactions your accounts and website have the more they’ll appear as a recommended page for new users to find you. Some ways to increase this probability are: providing consistent quality content, exposure to multiple platforms and creating “call to actions” for your audience.

5. Have A Clear and Captivating SEO Description            
When your website is being built you or the designer will create the preview description for your content that appears on search engines. This should be clear, concise and captivating.

6. Utilize Your Graph            
Like a pie graph? No! Your graph is the preview of your website when it is shared on social media sites such as Facebook or LinkedIn, usually with your site name and thumbnail. Make sure to complete this upon building your website to give new audience members a professional polished look.
